Founded by Sandra Suiter, a 20-year veteran of the educational leadership community, Horizons Collaborative is inspired by Sandra’s deep sense of empathy for her fellow leaders, as well as her in-depth understanding of what leaders need to overcome challenges, reach goals, and grow professionally. Sandra fosters partnerships that prioritize personalized insight over advice, and thoughtful collaboration over standard consulting.

Recently Completed Projects

Horizons Collaborative has already helped the leaders of major corporations and educational institutions achieve a wide range of goals. Some recent completed projects include: ​

  • Analyzed national and local school safety standards and policies, identifying alternatives, and making recommendations to a local school district

  • Conducted three cycles of strategic improvement with a large PreK-8 school

  • Facilitated the inclusion and integration of children with intellectual and developmental disabilities into a private school, without using public funds

  • Conducted an ethics audit for a thriving consulting company 

  • Developed a financial forecast for a Fortune 500 Company, based on the organization's history, financial background, and current financials. 

  • Researched a local school district and developed a strategic plan to solve identified challenges and needs.  

  • Developed a communication plan with the goal of building relationships and increasing engagement.

About Sandra Suiter-President 

A longtime educator passionate about the communities she served for over 20 years, Sandra rose through the ranks of leadership in Omaha’s educational community culminating in two different principalships over that time. As principal at the final school, Sandra led a team of over 50 employees, fostering a culture of collegiality to achieve excellence, inspire leadership, and promote collaboration. 

Sandra is proud of the accreditation status she and her team achieved as well as the reception of the prestigious National Blue Ribbon Award. She is a past honoree of the Administrator of the Year Award and served on many committees and teams to encourage successful improvement initiatives. Her transformational leadership style inspired the success of her employees and resulted in immense growth and forward momentum.

 

Sandra believes in supporting and cultivating all employees as they strive to lead, in whatever job capacity they find themselves. Sandra says one of her greatest accomplishments is encouraging and guiding six of her former teachers who now lead schools in the Omaha area. Sandra will finish her Doctorate in Interdisciplinary Leadership from Creighton University in just over a year while sharing her celebrated leadership expertise as the founder of Horizons Collaborative.

 

Sandra enjoys camping and sailing with her husband, four grown children, and five grandchildren. She loves reading, traveling, working out and doing anything that encourages her creativity.
